New Patients

You're in great hands

We make sure all our new patients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, a dentist will review your dental and medical history. For diagnosis, they will examine your teeth and take X-rays of your mouth. From there, the dentist will explain any issues and help you choose options for treatment. We typically proceed with cleaning at a time that is most convenient for you.

Accepted Insurance:

We accept most insurance plans and allow direct payment from insurance companies.  You may consider calling our office to verify that your plan is accepted (519.258.2191).

Accepted Payment

Please bring any insurance information with you to your first appointment.  To avoid any billing surprises, an estimate will be sent to the insurance company first to predetermine what your insurance company will or will not pay for.  Payment and Co-payment for services are expected at the time of the appointment.  Your insurance coverage booklet is a valuable source of information and useful for quick reference.  Currently, we accept Cash, Debit, Cheque, Visa & Mastercard credit for payment.

What should you expect at your first appointment?

What to expect at your first appointment:

On your first visit to the office, one of our friendly staff members will greet you.  It is recommended to arrive 15 mins before your scheduled appointment time to fill out a few forms.  It is important to bring any information concerning your past medical history and any medications you are currently taking or prescribed.  Your pharmacist may be able to print out a list of your current medications for you.  After you complete the forms, we will perform the following:

  1. Review of your comprehensive medical and dental history

  2. Complete examination, including extraoral (head & neck, lymph nodes etc.) and intraoral (teeth, gums, tongue, throat) hard and soft tissue

  3. X-rays (radiographs) if indicated. If you have current x-rays from another office (bitewings within last 2 years and full series/panoramic within last 5 years), we are able to complete a "release authorization form" with you

  4. Dental cleaning - polish & fluoride will be offered for children and scaling for adults. Some adults may need more than one appointment

  5. Demonstration on how to brush/floss effectively (or denture maintenance, cleaning under bridges or implants etc.)

  6. Photographs - with your permission, we use professional dental photography equipment that can help with cosmetic and invisalign case progression. Also, feel free to use your own camera for a quick shot of your child's first visit to the dentist!

  7. Dental records - if indicated, we may request to make models of your teeth

  8. Treatment Plan - after your first visit, we will use your records to come up with a personalized treatment plan
